Recommended Motion:
Approve the Athletic Trainer job description.
Rationale:

A copy of the Athletic Trainer job description is attached. This position has previously existed on a Variable Services Agreement. By making this position a Classified position the person in this position will be eligible for benefits and bargaining agreement unit membership. 

The job description was created after a review of similar job descriptions in several districts in the region.

VI.h. Quarterly Report on Williams Uniform Complaints
Recommended Motion:

Accept for information the quarterly report on the Williams Uniform Complaints from the Davis Joint Unified School District staff.

 

Rationale:

The Williams Uniform Complaint requires that all school districts report to their governing board and to the County Offices of Education on a quarterly basis.  Ed Code 35186(d) states “A school district shall report summarized data on the nature and resolution of all complaints on a quarterly basis to the county superintendent of schools and the governing board of the school district.  The summaries shall be publicly reported on a quarterly basis at a regularly scheduled meeting of the governing board of the school district.  The report shall include the number of complaints by general subject area with the number of resolved and unresolved complaints.  The complaints and written responses shall be available as public records.”

The quarter report is attached.  This form reflects only the required reporting elements.

VI.i. Approve Resolution No. 49-21 Authorizing the Purchase of Teacher Laptops for Elementary and Secondary Staff Under a Piggyback Contract Pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section 10229
Recommended Motion:
Approve Resolution No. 49-21 authorizing the purchase of teacher laptops for Elementary and Secondary Staff Under a Piggyback Contract Pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section 10229
Rationale:
Teacher computers need to be refreshed every five years (via leasing) to maintain optimal instructional tools for teaching.The current lease has ended this year.  The District Technology Advisory Committee met and reviewed options and pricing for new computers.   Elementary and Secondary teaching staff laptops will be replaced in the spring of 2021.
 
Financial Impact:
The annual fiscal impact for this lease is $187,867 including all taxes and fees for 60 months and is allocated in the current District budget for Technology.  No additional funding is being requested.

Recommended Motion:

Staff will provide for Board approval revised Phase 4 Modified In-person models for Preschool, TK/K, Grades 1-6, and Grades 7-12.  Staff will implement the approved models for a return to campus the week of April 12, 2021.

VIII. UPDATE ON TENTATIVE BOARD AGENDA CALENDAR
Rationale:

The calendar is a fluid, working document used by the Board President and Superintendent in support of the Board conducting efficient and effective Board meetings. Changes in the date of future agenda items occur frequently to best fit Board items into the time parameters of Board meetings and District priorities.

IX. DATE, TIME, AND PLACE OF NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING

The next meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for April 15, 2021. Consistent with the Shelter in Place orders from the Governor and Yolo County, this meeting is compliant with the Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20 which allows for a deviation of teleconference rules required by the Brown Act. The Board will convene in Open Session, and immediately thereafter adjourn to Closed Session at 5:00 p.m. The Board will reconvene in Open Session at approximately 6:30 p.m. The public comment phone line will be open at noon on the day of the Board meeting. Dial (530) 757-5344 and follow the prompts to record your comment for a particular agenda item or for an item not on the agenda. The message will be played at the appropriate time during the meeting, within the allotted public comment period.
